In a Las Vegas courtroom yesterday, O.J. Simpson’s lawyer, Yale Galanter, accused a key prosecution witness of being a liar, leading to a heated exchange in the third day of a preliminary hearing in the armed robbery case. Simpson’s one-time golfing pal, Walter Alexander, glared at him across a courtroom and said the former football star wanted him to bring “heat” to a confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers in a hotel room. Simpson’s lawyer then took Alexander to task, saying he was lying.

“After he asked me if I could watch his back, he leaned forward and it was kind of like, ‘Hey, do you think you can get some heat?”‘ Alexander said. “‘Just in case things go wrong, can you bring some heat?”

Alexander depicted Simpson as the mastermind of the plan to recover his possessions by setting up a sting operation in which the two dealers would think they were meeting with a potential buyer. The three were in town for a mutual friend’s wedding Sept. 13. Michael McClinton, also OJ’s co-defendant, volunteered to supply guns and Simpson said they probably would be needed only to show dealers Bruce Fromong and Alfred Beardsley “we mean business,” Alexander said. Alexander said he accepted a .22-caliber pistol from McClinton that he tucked into his waistband while McClinton strapped on a shoulder holster containing a .45.

Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure will decide after the hearing whether there is enough evidence for Simpson and two other men to stand trial. Alexander and Michael McClinton, who also testified against Simpson on Tuesday, struck deals with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to lesser charges, as did Charles Cashmore, who testified last week.

I think there’s enough evidence, this baby’s going to trial. AWWWWWWRIGHT!!!…Another OJ trial! If the Justice does decide there’s enough evidence, and it seems like there’s more than enough, there will be months of OJ entertainment in store. This time it seems like they set him up right. No stupid Los Angeles DA to screw this one up, no racist Brad Furman, and most important (but it does hurt the entertainment value of the whole thing) no Johnny Cochran. With all the ducks in a row, and without Johnny, it looks like OJ going away this time.

So come on Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure, let the games begin. The OJ circus is going to Vegas.

Mickey Rourke, star of “Barfly” and “Rumble Fish,” was arrested last Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence after being stopped while riding a Vespa motor scooter in Miami Beach, Florida. Rourke, a one-time professional boxer who attended high school not far from the scene of his arrest, was weaving from lane to lane on the green 2007 scooter and failed a sobriety test administered on the street, the arrest report said. He was stopped in the city’s South Beach entertainment district around 4 a.m. He was booked into the Miami-Dade Pre-trial Detention Center around 9:30 AM and was held on $1,000 bond.

According to the police report, the cop says to him: ‘You swerved right in front of me.’ And Mickey answered: ‘No, no, dude, I’m all right.’, Rourke then asked the cop, “What the f*** did I do?!” Cops say the actor’s “face” was flushed, his eyes were bloodshot and watery and his speech was slurred. “I’m not drunk, I didn’t even drink that much,” Rourke said, according to the report.

Old Mick was begging for trouble, riding around Miami’s South Beach on a Vespa drunk at 4AM, with red eyes and a chick on the back. I have always found calling the cop DUDE, isn’t the best way to get out of a DUI. Also asking him ‘what the F*ck did I do?’ usually doesn’t help either.

I could hardly let the week go by without commenting one of my favorite people in Hollywood, George Clooney, and his encounter with super male model, Fabio. First of all just saying George Clooney and Fabio in the same sentence is funny, so I had to take the opportunity.

George Clooney and romance icon Fabio stunned diners at Hollywood’s (actually Beverly Hills) swanky Madeo restaurant on Friday, when they exchanged fighting words over a photo session at Fabio’s table. Actor Fabio was dining with friends when one stood to take photos close to a table Clooney was sharing with his girlfriend Sarah Larson. Sources inside tell me however, that several women who had won a dinner with Fabio were sitting at his table snapping photos of the hunk. Georgie thought the woman was trying to take shots of him and asked her to stop, a request that annoyed his fellow diner. Fabio went over to Clooney’s table to explain, but the conversation became heated, and the long-haired actor was overheard telling the “Ocean’s Eleven” star, “I thought you were a nice guy. Stop being a diva!” The encounter reportedly prompted angry Clooney to stand up and approach Fabio.

An eyewitness said, “The waiters broke it up before it got out of hand.”George looked annoyed. … George was drinking but he wasn’t drunk.”

Clooney reportedly skipped the rest of his meal, asked for his bill and left.

Fabio’s manager has refused to comment about the incident, but says, “George is lucky he didn’t end up in the ER.”

Fabio and Clooney weren’t the only celebrities dining at the restaurant on the night of the scuffle – Dame Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci were also guests of Madeo that night.

Come on… This is too surreal. I mean imagine being out to dinner in Beverly Hills and George Clooney and Fabio get into a shoving match, and the waiters have to break it up?! This is comedy my friends. There is no writer walking the line right now, that could have come up with something like this. I have to say, I know and love George, I understand he was being protective of his lady and his privacy, but it seems like Georgie was a little out of line. I mean he has to consider that Fabio although D or E list to George’s A, is a celebrity in his own right. Those poor ladies who won the date with Fabio, just wanted to get couple of pictures to remember the experience. So God forbid if one of the ladies got a shot of George as a bonus. Was it really going to kill George to let it slide? It seems to me, maybe George did have a lemoncello or three and got a bit rambunctious, and was dissing Fabio.

As far as George taking on Fabio, I’m not sure about that either. I mean George is a hard working guy. He is athletic and he works out, but he is always very busy acting and going on meetings, nights out drinking. Also George is a bit banged up, he has a bad neck from doing his own stunts, he has a bum ankle he hurt playing basketball, he always seems to have broken fingers and he just got into a motorcylce accident about a month ago.

Fabio is a pretty big guy and he’s in shape. I mean, really, what the hell does Fabio do all day? He sits around resting and working out, he’s at beauty and hair salons all day, tanning by the pool, he seems to be very well rested. He even withstood a bird flying into his face while he was riding a roller coaster a few years ago. The bird got the worst of it, Fabio only sustained a one inch cut above his nose, the bird was killed. Bird Story

I would love to see the two go at it, in a celebrity death match, or pay per view fighting event. Sorry to George, but I think Fabio might be able to take him. I think George would get some shots in for sure, but Fabio ultimately is a little to big and well rested for George. Maybe if George recruited Joe Pesci to be on his side in a celebrity tag team match, and Fabio would have got Helen Mirren on his side. Maybe that would have made it more fair. The pity is, we’ll never know.

Hey, you all must be wondering what’s going on with the site. I haven’t posted much since my big come back after my wedding. Well, I had to get busy working to pay for the extravaganza. I was on the TV show Pushing Daisies for a while, which ended ugly due to some evil Hollywood producer and network decisions. Look for the look and production value of the show to change in later episodes, because a decision was made to cut some costs on the show’s production. I have some more to tell about my month on Pushing Daisies, the experience was a good example of the good and the really bad that working in Hollywood has to offer. Look for more on Pushing Daisies.

Since then I’ve done a few commercials, a Music Video for the band Blue October, a short film for a friend of mine (FOR FREE!), and I am in currently in Las Vegas working all week on a series of Kroger Supermarket commercials. I have been brought in as a Hollywood expert, to make their commercials, for them. It’s been very pleasant so far, the people are cool, the work is pretty straight forward, and it’s the kind of job I’ve done many times, so it is kind of easy for me. In the meantime I’ve been able to experience some what Vegas has to offer in nightlife and gambling activity. The hardest part about working in Las Vegas I have found, is actually coming home with some of the money you’ve made. Every where I turn is a casino or someone with their hand out.

Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday in his drunken driving case. The “24″ star agreed to serve 30 days for driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 percent, as well as 18 days for violating his probation for a 2004 drunken driving case, according to court records. As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.

“I’m very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers on ‘24′ and at 20th Century Fox,” Sutherland said in a statement.

While early releases have been granted to others, including celebrities, because of jail crowding and other concerns, Sutherland must serve all of his time, according to the plea agreement. The sheriff also was specifically ordered to not release Sutherland to electronic monitoring. So Paris doing only 13 days for her drunk driving escapades, Nicole Ritchie’s 2 hours in jail for driving the wrong way on the Freeway, Lindsay Lohan getting only 1 day for chasing people around drunk with cocaine in her pocket, kind of ruined it for Jack Bauer. The judge is going to make sure the Kiefer does the whole 48 days in the plea agreement, he cannot get out early, as part of the agreement.

Sutherland also showed to be a stand up guy in all of this. Fiercely protecting the production of his show, the Fox TV drama “24″, and it’s crew. Just like Jack Bauer would have done, sacrificing himself for the good of others. The actor’s plea arrangement ensures that production of “24″ will not be interrupted, Fox officials said in a statement.

“Kiefer made clear to us at the time of his arrest that his first concern was the welfare of those he worked with and that he intended to do whatever was necessary to prevent shutting down the show because of his situation,” the statement said.

“He told us that even if he had to sacrifice more time in custody in order to protect the show and the jobs of those who work with him, he would do so. From what occurred today, it is evident he is a man of his word,” it said. So the Judge will let him do his time around the show’s shooting schedule so there is no interruption. He’ll do 18 days in county jail during the show’s Christmas break. Sutherland then will have until July 1, 2008, to serve the remaining 30 days in jail. He will be on probation for five years and faces fines and a driving suspension, according to court documents. He must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months. Well, Jack Bauer has done it again, this time successfully manipulating the LA court, so he can continue saving the world, in the upcoming season. Jack has wiggled out of tight jam, once again.

Now if the Emmy Award winning actor can just keep his pants on while in public places he can put all this behind him. Maybe that 18-month alcohol-education class, can help him with that, it did wonders for Mel Gibson. Mel went almost a year without being seen drunk in a bar, and he went all the way to Bali to do it. I’ll tell you what, he better not try the old pull my pants down routine in jail, or he’ll end up being someone’s jail house Paris Hilton.

Great idea for a new one night special TV show extravaganza! Mel Gibson and Kiefer Sutherland, Hollywood’s 2 biggest drunks, in a Celebrity Drink Off. Put them both face to face at a bar, surround them with some hot chicks to cheer them on, maybe even throw Vince Vaughn in there for some laughs. Let them go, last man standing, is the winner. The loser has to leave Hollywood, the champion goes right to county jail to be somebody’s bitch… quick, someone call FOX.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — George Clooney suffered a broken rib and some scrapes on Friday when the motorcycle he and a friend were riding collided with a car as the actor tried to pass the other vehicle, authorities said.

Weehawken Police Sgt. Sean Kelly said the collision occurred at 3:30 p.m. as Clooney and friend Sarah Larson were traveling north on Boulevard East and sped up to pass on the right a 1999 Mazda Millenia that was preparing to make a right turn.

Kelly said it is not known if the driver of the other vehicle, who has not been identified, had used his turn signal. Boulevard East is a narrow road with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.

“It’s a he-said, she-said right now, but you can’t pass on the right in Weehawken or anywhere in Jersey,” Kelly said.

Kelly said the accident remains under investigation and no summonses have been issued.

The 46-year-old actor was treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen and released, spokesman Stan Rosenfield said in a statement.

“He’s doing fine,” Rosenfield said. “He has a broken rib, it’s very painful and it’ll take a long time to heal.”

Larson suffered a broken foot. Both she and Clooney were wearing helmets, Kelly said.

Clooney’s latest film, “Michael Clayton,” will be released next month.

Poor Clooney, got into a motorcycle accident, and has to spend time in a New Jersey hospital. I can see what was going on here. It seems like good old George had a hot babe on the back of the bike, and they were cruising part of Jersey where you get a great view of the New York City Skyline. I’m sure Georgie was trying to impress the young lady, showing off a bit, being charming, looking at the view… and BANG! He’s flying off the motorcycle. I’m sure he thought he had her in the bag, then all of a sudden the only bed he was going to was a hospital bed. Sorry George, I love ya, but I have another Hollywood rule I follow- Never feel bad for a celebrity who bangs more hot broads than anyone else. Get well soon buddy.

Marcel Marceau, who did much to revive the art of pantomime, died Saturday in France. He was 84. The renowned mime died in the southwestern French town of Cahors, where he had moved after retiring from the stage in 2005. Marceau, the man who taught Michael Jackson how to moonwalk, began his silent career in 1964 and performed an average of 200 shows a year. His performances changed little over the years, but he played to full houses in the United States, Germany and other European countries, also in Australia and Japan, where he was deemed “a national treasure.”

“At a time when two generations of younger mime artists have rebelled against his brand of classical mime,” Anna Kisselgoff wrote in The New York Times in 1999, “Mr. Marceau remains a model, not a fossil. Anyone who has never seen the staples of the repertory with which Mr. Marceau has toured the United States since 1955 should beat a path” to his performances.

I guess I thought he was already dead, who ever hears about mime shows anymore. To be honest, I always thought mimes were pretty creepy. They are probably the next level of creepiness in the entertainment world, after clowns. Mimes always seem sad because they can’t speak. They try to tell you a story by acting it out, but it becomes frustrating because they can’t say anything. You just want tell yell at them “…just say it already!” A form of performance art that can be entertaining and interesting for some, I suppose. I do find it frustrating, I never really got the whole miming routine. Marcel Marceau is mega famous however, everyone has heard of him, even here in West Hollywood. His name is synonymous with miming the world over. A master mime, if you will.

Who knew two generations of younger mime artists have rebelled against Marceau’s brand of classical mime. A whole mime conflict has been going on for two generations of mimes, and nobody told us! They are so quiet, those mimes. I would love to see the two factions of mimes in a mime battle. A tooth and nail mime battle, now I think that would be entertaining.

All I have to say to all you young mimes out there, Marcel Marceau is the only mime anyone ever heard of. Most people think he invented miming, he must have done something right.

What ever happened to Alicia Silverstone? The young starlet who shot to the top of the entertainment world in the mid 90’s. Her movies “Clueless” and “The Crush”, made her a very young and beautiful box office darling, that had Hollywood at her feet. She was Lindsay Lohan when Lindsay was in grade school, she was Paris Hilton before Paris had her first sip of a frozen margarita. After those two movies she was the hottest young thing running around Hollywood. She was chased around by the paparazzi, and was a regular headline for the National Enquirer. Then she disappeared, she made a couple of bad movies and then some bad TV, and she was gone. No more paparazzi, no more sexy photo shoots, no more funny stories about her drunken nights. Fake rehab wasn’t big for starlets back then, or else I’m sure she would have been checking in and out of Wonderland, Promises, and Cirque Lodge. We haven’t seen her do anything in the last 5 years at least. Now she’s back in a 30 second ad for PETA (not sure exactly what it stands for and I don’t feel like looking it up), something to prevent cruelty to animals. PETA has been known for provocative ads and publicity stunts to draw attention to their cause.

I had the pleasure of working with Alicia way back when in the 90’s. It was after she had become a hot young star, on the movie “Batman and Robin”, she played Batgirl. When I say she was Lindsay before Lindsay, I saw it every day. She would drag her ass into work every morning after a full night of partying in Hollywood, and we would have piece her together every day, to get her ready to work. She would literally sleep in the chair as they did her hair and make up. Then they would stretch that latex suit onto her. It would take 2 or 3 costumers to get her into that thing, and She’d be reading the National Enquirer out loud about her exploits to anyone who would listen. Then we would load her into a golf cart and I would physically carry her to the set. She would put her arm around my shoulders as if she couldn’t walk, and I would deliver her right to her mark, every day. She hated the Batgirl suit, it was skin tight and it was hard to move around in. We hated to let her get out of the costume, because it was so hard to get her to put it on. So unless she had more then an hour break she would keep it on, so she was aways uncomfortable and tired. She was sweet though, she wasn’t one of those miserable stars who felt like she had to make everyone else miserable. She would constantly thank me for looking out for her, and jump into my golf cart and take a quick nap between shots. She would just ride around with me on the backlot at Universal Studios, sleeping. It was very surreal for a young production person, I would have Batgirl in full costume, riding around with me half asleep. My biggest worry was not to let her fall out when I made turns. She was fun, maybe not the most professional person to work with, but pleasant to be around. It did get to a point when everyone was fed up with her and, the producers wrote her out of a lot of scenes. She was just going through the motions at the end of the shoot and she didn’t care. Her performance in “Batman and Robin” did a lot to ruin her career. Not only was the movie bad, and she was bad in it, but the stories of her being unprofessional and difficult, got out. Back then, if you were difficult you didn’t work, the studios wouldn’t risk the big money on her anymore. It’s a little different in todays Hollywood. Although Lindsay will go through some of this, when she is ready to work again some studio will take a chance on her. Linds should look at Alicia as an example of how all the stardom can just go away.

Another thing I remember about Alicia was that she was always hungry. One of the reason was, because the skin tight Batgirl costumes had to be made at the beginning of a long production schedule, so she couldn’t gain any weight. The suit literally was custom fit to her body, to the inch, and had to be stretched onto her. So she was constantly on a diet, and the producers had forbidden her to eat while on set, because she had gained a few inches, and the suits were getting too tight. As we became friends she would ask me to sneak her food, mostly chocolate bars and chips. One day she jumped into the golf cart and saw a roast beef sandwich I had made for myself because I missed lunch. She looked at it like she had never seen one before. After talking about the sandwich for a while, I finally gave it to her, and she gobbled it down like she had never eaten before. After that she couldn’t get enough roast beef. Every day she was asking the craft service guy to sneak her 2, 3, 4 sandwiches, and had them hidden everywhere. She always kept one in my golf cart. The last month or so of the show, she was eating roast beef like crazy, and the Batgirl costume stopped fitting. The costumers had to finally make major renovations to the suit, in the final month of shooting, to make it fit. The producers and the costume people were pissed, she could care less, she loved roast beef.

In the PETA ad, she does say that she wasn’t always a vegetarian. I can attest to that, she was addicted to roast beef sandwiches in the 90’s.

Alicia does look great in the ad, I don’t think her body was airbrushed for the photo or the spot. She has gotten herself back into very good shape since then. I’m not sure about all this animal fanatic stuff, but it’s nice to see her working…and naked.

A judge set bail Wednesday at $125,000 for O.J. Simpson in connection with the armed robbery of sports memorabilia collectors at a Las Vegas hotel. His attorney later said he expected the former football star to be released within hours and return to Florida. Simpson, standing in court in a blue jail uniform and handcuffs, furrowed his brow as the judge read the list of charges against him.

He answered quietly in a hoarse voice and nodded as Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure Jr. laid out restrictions for his release, including surrendering his passport to his attorney and having no contact with co-defendants or potential witnesses. Simpson did not enter a plea.

“Mr. Simpson do you understand the charges against you?” the judge asked.

“Yes, sir,” Simpson responded.

“We expect Mr. Simpson to be processed and released fairly quickly,” OJ’s Attorney Yale Galanter said. “He’s relieved. This has been a very harrowing experience for him.”

So OJ Simpson will be back on the street, and comfortably back in bed with his girlfriend in Miami before the day is out. His next court date was set for the end of October, and a trial would not begin until the beginning of next year. Simpson will be facing 10 felony charges including kidnapping and life in prison.

The jury in the Phil Spector murder trial are officially at an impasse and deadlocked at 7-5 vote. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler announced the latest twist in the celebrity trial that has been a fixture in a high-security Los Angeles courtroom since April. The jury believes it is split into almost equal camps and is unable to decide whether the famed music producer shot an actress to death more than four years ago. The jury has indicated that the problem is that they can not agree on whether Spector actually pulled the trigger, killing Lana Clarkson that night. Reasonable doubt is a bitch in these cases. Especially with high profile defendants who can afford to bring in a parade of top lawyers and expert witnesses to raise doubt in the minds of the jury. Like OJ and Robert Blake before him, Phil Spector’s legal team has made mince meat out of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.

Spector is charged with shooting actress Clarkson, 40, on Feb. 3, 2003, hours after they met for the first time at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, where she was working as a hostess in the VIP area. If convicted, Spector, 67, could spend the rest of his life in prison. It was a fiercely fought trial that put fame and science on display. Spector’s legal battle followed along the lines of those of O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson and Robert Blake. Other cases the LA District Attorneys were not able to get a conviction.

Prosecutors contended that Spector shot Clarkson, who was found sitting on a chair in the foyer. The defense insisted that Clarkson had killed herself, calling the death an “accidental suicide” by a woman whose acting career was in eclipse. They lined up a string of forensic experts who insisted that Spector could have been as much as 6 feet away from Clarkson and might even have been moving, too far away to have held the .38-caliber Colt Cobra in Clarkson’s mouth. There in lies the reasonable doubt.

Even though the jury is hung, officials are not giving up on getting a verdict. The trial will resume Thursday as the judge tries to reinstruct jurors on the law. The “dynamite instruction”, although not common in California, may be handed down by the judge. This instruction to the jury basically says to the jury, go back and figure it out. Do what ever it takes to come to a verdict here, there will be no hung jury for now. The other thing the judge may do, is offer a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter. This charge says that it was an accidental death at the hands of Spector.

It will be interesting to see what happens on Thursday, but it seems like I’ve seen this before. The handwriting is on the wall for this entire trial to go down the tubes. The lesser charge might help the jury reach a verdict, but if that happens, it leaves Spector grounds for an appeal. If the jury comes back officially hung, then the DA has to decide if it wants to retry the case. At the very least it looks like this case is going to go on for another year or so.

The Los Angeles DA has done it again. They screwed another one up, it seems like no matter how much evidence they have they can’t get a conviction. They should have gone for an insanity conviction. They would have had to prove that Spector was mentally ill, and killed Clarkson as a crazy person. I think that would have been easier for them to prove. It’s obvious, even by just looking at him that Spector is out of his mind. One would just have to tour his wig closet to tell how crazy he is.
