Die Hard 4 – “Live Free or Die Hard”,comes out today (6/27), directed by Len Wiseman. I worked on Die Hard 3 (With a Vengeance) way back in 1995, in New York City. John McTiernan was the director on that one, a complete lunatic. It was one of my first DGA jobs, and a fun movie to work on. Every day we were doing some crazy stunts, and Bruce Willis is fun to be around. He’s a pretty good guy, it’s not like he’s remembering everyones name or anything, but he’s upbeat. He also did nice things for the crew buying pizzas and ice cream for everyone. He even threw the wrap party, on the World Yacht, a huge party on a boat cruising around Manhattan, it was cool. Willis treated us well, but he certainly has the movie star mentality. I like him though, and the trailer for Live Free or Die Hard looks pretty good. It looks like a bigger and better Die Hard, and Willis does play that part very well. Action packed, great for mindless summer viewing, with a sense of humor. Also, it was shot in good old USA, mostly California.
